BALTIC FORT ROUTE MODLIN MEETING

22^nd - 24^th April 2007, Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki (Poland)

On 23-24 April, in Modlin (Poland), the meeting of the first group (WP1) of the international project INTERREG III B “Baltic Fort Route” (BFR) took place. During the meeting, the presentations of the pilot projects in Modlin and Kostrzyn were presented. The WP1 manager Dr. Valdas Rakutis presented the program of this working group for the period until the end of the project and the final tasks that the partners still have to complete.

Kostrzyn, Poland   -  20^th and 21^st of April 2007

On 20-21 April, in Kostrzyn (Poland), a meeting of the Coordination Group Start Route of the international project INTERREG III B "Baltic Fort Route" (BFR) took place.

A four-route programme and newspapers issues were heatedly discussed and coordinated.  All the four routes will start in the town of Kostrzyn located on the border between Poland and Germany and will go to the partners' fortifications located to the south, north, west, and the east of the town and will include the supplementary tourist objects located along the way.

On 11-12 April, in Riga (Latvia), the meeting of the working group "Baltic Fort Route", assigned with a task to prepare the manual Best Practices in Management of Fortifications, of the international project INTERREG III B took place.

The meeting was organized by the German partners from Fort Gorgast Andreas Werk and Michael Heinsohn; the participants included project coordinator Hartmut Röder, and partners from Poland Piotr Stoppa (Gdańsk), Paweł Cieszyński (Kostrzyn) and Lithuania Ingrida Veliutė (Kaunas).

BALTIC FORT ROUTE
WP1, WP2 and LP MEETING
5th – 8th February 2007, Vilnius (Lithuania)

The meeting of the Lead Partner, first and second work groups of INTERREG III B “Baltic Fort Route” (BFR) took place on 5-8 February in Vilnius.

WP2 and WP1 project activities were discussed and guidelines for activities until the end of the project were laid down. The most important issue regarding the implementation of increased budget by July 2007 was discussed. Also were discussed activities of TIS group and possibilities to compile and input more information into Humboldt University “Mneme” database, which soon will be accessible to all project partners.

On 16-20 January a meeting of international project INTERREG III B “Baltic Fort Route” (BFR) partners responsible for developing the Transnational Information System (TIS) took place in the Military History Centre in Kaunas.

The meeting of the first (WP1) and the fourth (WP4) working groups of the BFR Project was held in Kaunas on 7-8 October 2006.

On 4-6 October 2006, the meeting of the second working group (WP2) of the transnational project INTERREG III B “Baltic Fort Route” (BFR) with the partners from Kaliningrad was held in the Imanuel Kant Russian State University in Kaliningrad.

A consultation on the development of the transnational fortress route was held and the travelling exhibition creation issue was dealt with at the meeting of the fourth working group (WP4) held on 19-20 January 2006 at Fort Gorgast in Germany.

The third Network meeting of the BFR Project partners was held in the City of Gdańsk, in Poland, on 8-12 June. The main aim of this meeting was to deliver the report on the activities of the last half-year.

On 23-25 April 2006, the workshop “Development of Utilisation Concepts in Fortresses” was held in the Königstein Fortress in Germany. 

The meeting of the second BFR working group (WP2) called “Restoration, Monument Protection and Nature Management” took place in the City of Peitz, in Germany, on 23-24 March 2006.

The meeting of the third BFR working group (WP3) was held on the 23 February 2006 in Gdańsk, Poland.

On 9-10 February 2006, the third meeting of the first BFR working group (WP1) was held in the City of Giżycko in Poland.

A consultation on the development of the transnational fortress route was held and the travelling exhibition creation issue was dealt with at the meeting of the fourth working group (WP4) held on 19-20 January 2006 at Fort Gorgast in Germany.

 

The Network meeting of BFR partners, which took place in Kaunas on 28-30 November 2006, was attended not only by the project partners but also by the guests form Kaliningrad, Ukraine, Latvia.

The meeting of the second BFR working group (WP2) was held in the City of Kolobrzeg in Poland on 27-28 October 2005.
